Our duties include preparing import/export documents; arranging ocean, air, and domestic transportation; making export packing arrangements; preparing quotations and invoices; and responding to inquiries from customers. It is rewarding when I complete a project requested by customers without trouble.

Two years prior, I was hired as a full-time employee for the first time in approximately 25 years. At first, I knew nothing about this industry and struggled a lot relying on the support and guidance of those around me. Now, when I can help customers or colleagues even slightly, my sense of achievement increases.

I am a jack-of-all-trades (sales, ocean import/export, air import/export, packing, forwarding, accounting, etc.). I feel rewarded when I am able to respond to the short delivery times requested by shippers or when I am entrusted with a larger job than my predecessor.

When I receive a request from a client, I handle a series of tasks such as delivery arrangements, customs clearance requests, and booking arrangements. On my days off, I enjoy walking with friends to places I have never been to in Tokyo or other prefectures in Japan, or staying overnight on trips.

I am mainly in charge of import operations, liaison with customers, and work arrangements. I also provide guidance and advice to junior staff. I feel a sense of accomplishment when customers are pleased with my work.

I handle forwarding operations and domestic transportation arrangements. Every project has a clear beginning, development, turn, and conclusion, which gives me a sense of accomplishment once completed. At the end of the month, I look at the number of cases I’ve handled and feel proud of myself—like, “Wow, I really did all that!”

My duties range from customs clearance management and estimation to general affairs contracts and infrastructure management. On my days off, I have go camping with my family since 2000. Although it is now mainly for adults, I enjoy auto-camping with my friends every month at specific destinations. When my son’s family and others join us, the number of campers sometimes exceed 100.

I am responsible for the preparation of customs declarations for imports and exports, customs broker examinations, and import/export declarations. In addition to customs clearance, we arranged drayage, truck dispatch, and warehouse operations. We also request quotations from overseas distributors and make consistent arrangements for overseas and domestic transportation.

There are many tasks for which there are no solutions, and I am often troubled by them. However, I find it especially rewarding when I have established the direction I want to take and present it to others with passion, and they accept it with conviction, or when my resourceful and thoughtful work helps others.

By achieving results through deadlines, such as closing accounts and managing budgets, one can gain a sense of accomplishment because the results can be confirmed in a tangible way. Another advantage is the ease of scheduling work, making it easier to achieve a good balance between work and family life.

I am engaged in all aspects of my work, from on-site work to witnessing correspondence to customer service, estimates, and other customer contact support. I feel especially rewarded when I receive a “THANK YOU” from a customer or when a customer relies on me.

I am in charge of new development sales, forwarding, and supervising the Kobe sales office both in Japan and overseas. On my days off, I enjoy reading (modern history, politics, economics), watching basketball (NBA, CBA, JBA), and touring events (Yokosuka U.S. Naval Base, exploring downtown Chinese, visiting restaurants, etc.).

I respond to e-mails and phone calls from the customers in charge, arrange bookings, check customs clearance documents, and prepare ledgers and invoices. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I can respond and process cargo smoothly by making preparations and arrangements early, and when I am able to ship export cargo safely.

I am engaged in forwarding operations and handling inquiries from overseas distributors. I feel a sense of accomplishment when the project for which I have submitted a quotation is completed successfully. On my days off, I enjoy attending comedy shows and visiting sake breweries.

I am involved in general sales and forwarding operations. I exchange emails with overseas companies including the same content as in my previous job. However, in this company, I can respond honestly based on my own ideas and gain an understanding within the company, allowing me to handle my daily work without stress.
